Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria has recorded significant development with the recent signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) by the Institute for Tourism Professional of Nigeria (ITPN) and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

With this partnership, technical and vocational training and education in the country will be boosted and greatly improved, with both organisations expected to deploy their technical and human resources towards the enhancement of the skill.

The ITPN team was led by its President Aare Abiodun Odusanwo while the leadership of NABTEB was led to the formal signing ceremony of the MoU by its Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Mohammed Aminu Mohammed.

The strategic collaboration will among others strengthen curriculum development, certification, accreditation, assessment and quality assurance. It will also promote professional competence and industry-relevant skills within Nigeria’s Hospitality, Catering, Travel and Tourism sectors.

The partnership represents an important step towards strengthening TVET delivery, professionalising the industry and creating credible certification and licensing pathways for practitioners.

It is believed that this landmark collaboration and shared commitment by both ITPN and NABTEB will advance skills development in Nigeria.
